Itinerary and highlights

The Peñas Blancas River is fed by the pristine waters of several private cloud forest reserves in Arenal. It is surrounded by lush rainforest, natural volcanic hot springs, waterfalls, and forested canyons that measure upwards of 700 feet (213 m) in height. This river provides a scenic adventure perfect for wildlife viewing in La Fortuna. It's the easiest and most unique way to take in the area's spectacular scenery, learn about its natural history from your guide, and simply enjoy a serene day immersed in nature.

Next, we head to the La Fortuna Waterfall Reserve, where a majestic 210-foot waterfall awaits. Hike 1,640 feet downhill to reach the base of the falls and feel the invigorating spray. Take a refreshing dip in the natural pool formed by the La Fortuna River – a perfect reward for your trek. Your visit directly benefits the local community, as 100% of the entrance fee goes towards social projects like schools, nutritional centers, and infrastructure.

Delicious Farm-to-Table Lunch
Indulge in a delightful lunch at Vida Campesina Farm. Savor authentic Costa Rican cuisine prepared with fresh, locally sourced ingredients, most grown right on the farm! Top it all off with a special treat – homemade produce and a cup of freshly brewed coffee, prepared in the traditional Costa Rican style.

Step back in time and explore the Arenal Volcano's transformative power. Hike the Arenal 1968 Trail, named after the volcano’s, most significant eruption. Witness the stark contrast between the solidified lava flows – remnants of the volcano's fiery past – and the areas now undergoing regeneration. Our expert guide will share fascinating details about the volcano's history and ongoing activity. This 3 km hike offers unparalleled vistas of the majestic Arenal

Baldí is a "natural look-alike" place, perfect for both relaxing and having fun. Great for families with teenagers and kids. This place offers 25 pools of natural hot springs as well as water slides for kids and adults. This many pools will make you want to try all of them and enjoy of the waterfalls, bubble streams and tropical gardens. There are also different environments where you can for example: just talk with your group of friends while listening to tropical music, have fun at the waterslides or just calmly relax surrounded by nature in a more private area.
We recommend trying the hot water pools and the switch to a cold-water pool, you can do this many times if you like. It will relax and restore your body in a surprising way. Enjoy the water, the jungle or gardens that surround you in this unique natural experience.
